The origins of A Class in Wonders could be traced back to the effort between two persons, Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford, both of whom were outstanding psychologists and researchers. The course’s inception happened in early 1960s when Schucman, who had been a medical and research psychologist at Columbia University’s University of Physicians and Surgeons, started to experience some internal dictations. She identified these dictations as coming from an internal style that recognized it self as Jesus Christ. Schucman originally resisted these activities, but with Thetford’s inspiration, she began transcribing the messages she received.
